Court administration

Departments and staff units

Performing judicial functions at a Supreme Court requires an effective judicial system that efficiently supports the work of the judges.

The court administration of the Federal Fiscal Court is divided into specialist departments and staff units.
The Central Department is for instance responsible for non-judicial human resources, the budget and public procurement, the internal service and property management.
The Court Office, the Service Bureau and the Academic Service support the senates in their judicial work.
The Documentation and Information Department and the library, which has one of the most extensive collections of books on German tax and customs law, are also part of the court administration.

Court administration in the broad sense includes the activities of the self-governing judicial bodies such as the Presidential Council or the Judicial Council.
